The Arcadia II departs Corinna at 10am cruising downstream on the Pieman River towards Pieman Head. Arriving at Pieman Head at 11.30am and departing at 1.00pm for return to Corinna at 2.30pm. Operates 7 days a week Peak season (pending booking numbers) (December to March/April). The Arcadia II will run on select days through Winter (May to November). Please call to enquire.
A commentary on the history and some of the unique features of the area are given on the way down by our very knowledgeable skippers and you are looked after by our friendly crew. Tea, coffee, cake and biscuits are complimentary for the duration of the journey.
Lunch is supplied when you disembark at the wharf at Pieman Heads. Lunch consists of a piece of fruit, fruit juice, homemade muffin and a delicious ham and salad wrap, packed in a bag for you to take on your walk to view the shacks at Pieman Head and walk along the wild West Coast of Tasmania.
The Sweetwater cruise departs at 3pm. Sweetwater takes a maximum of 9 passengers on a 1 hour smooth water cruise viewing some of the glorious features of the Pieman River and having these features explained by one of our knowledgeable skippers.
You will be taken to the Savage River to view the shipwreck of the S.S. Croydon, and then onto Lovers Falls which is only accessible by small boat or kayak. This is one of the true gems of the area. After leaving Lovers Falls it’s back to Corinna.
Special kayaking experiences are available for guests at Corinna Wilderness Experience. Sixteen canoes and kayaks (with life jackets), are available on site.
All water based activities are wind, rain and tide dependant, your safety is our primary concern, so trips can be cancelled at short notice. Weather conditions on the west coast do change dramatically so, as the scout’s motto says, “Be Prepared” – this is real wilderness.
